Lamborghini Huracán

The Lamborghini Huracán is a mid-engine sports car produced in Italy by Lamborghini from 2014 to 2024. It succeeded the Gallardo as the brand's primary ten-cylinder model, debuting at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014.

Automobili Lamborghini named the car after an 1879 Spanish fighting bull, continuing a company naming tradition. Built on a hybrid chassis of aluminum and carbon fiber, the standard launch coupe delivered 449 kW (602 hp) through a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine. Power routed to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, achieving a time of 3.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and reaching a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph). An open-top Spyder variant arrived in 2016, followed by a lighter rear-wheel-drive configuration that used a detuned powertrain.

Track-focused engineering produced the Performante in 2017, which raised engine output to 471 kW (631 hp) and introduced active aerodynamic flaps. Test driver Marco Mapelli recorded a lap time of 6 minutes 52.01 seconds on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in October 2016. In customer motorsport, GT3 racing variants secured back-to-back class victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Lamborghini also supplied specialized models to the Italian State Police for urgent organ transport operations along the motorway between Padua and Rome.

Factory technicians updated the model line with the Evo in 2019, adding all-wheel steering and an integrated dynamic control system. Later variants included the competition-derived STO in 2020 and the off-road Sterrato in 2022, which featured raised ground clearance and reinforced wheel arches. Assembly at the Sant'Agata Bolognese plant ended in 2024 after surpassing 25,000 completed units across the decade-long model run. In August 2024, Lamborghini revealed the twin-turbocharged V8 hybrid Temerario as the direct successor to the ten-cylinder model. Final deliveries to private collectors concluded ten years of atmospheric V10 sports car manufacture in Emilia-Romagna.
